My name is Alexandra Chauchix, I was born in Martinique, an idyllic French island located in the Caribbean Sea. I’ve lived in different parts of France (mostly in Paris), I spent two years in Saudi Arabia and I’ve been living in Seville, Spain since 2007. I come from a cosmopolite background that probably influences my art.
My artistic language is abstract as it gives me the freedom I need to express what I consider important: that we have more joy, strength and abundance in our lives than we are aware of.
I use acrylic painting on large format canvases, with vibrant colors and organic shapes in layers that tell different stories and feelings. My process is intuitive and emotional. I enjoy painting without knowing where it will lead me to, and I trust the outcome will represent the message I want to transmit to the world. Lately, I’m attracted by geometric shapes and the hard edge style.
My values as an artist are optimism, respect of nature and human ability to change.
